Joseph La Nasa, III
Joseph (“Jody”) LaNasa is the Founder and Managing Partner of Serengeti Asset Management, a multi-strategy investment firm that focuses on making opportunistic investments in the debt and equity of public and private companies. Prior to launching Serengeti in 2007, Jody was at Goldman Sachs for nine-years (1997-2006), where he was elected a Managing Director in 2002 and a Partner in 2004. Jody headed the Multi-Strategy Investing Business (“MSI”) within Goldman Sachs Americas’ Special Situations Group. MSI was a multi-billion dollar proprietary investment business that focused on a broad range of opportunistic and fundamental value investments primarily in equity and debt securities, including derivatives and distressed debt.

Jody graduated with a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1994 and a B.S.F.S. summa cum laude from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service in 1991. Jody clerked for Judge Adrian G. Duplantier of the United States District Court for Eastern District of Louisiana (New Orleans) from 1994 - 1995. Jody then worked as an attorney at Wachtell Lipton Rosen & Katz from 1995 - 1997 in the creditors’ rights and corporate departments.
Jody resides in Greenwich, Connecticut with his wife, Stephanie, and their two children, Ajax and Maxima. Jody serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for Harvard Law School and on the Board of Regents of Georgetown University.
